The Association was founded June 25th 1978 for exhibitors of Siamese cats in the Midlands. At this time, the only breed shows for Siamese cats, were in the south and north of the country.

The aims of the Association are to encourage interest in the welfare and breeding of Siamese cats and fair dealings and kind treatment of all cats.  The Midshires became affiliated to the GCCF and held its first Exemption Show in 1981 at Leamington Spa.  An annual Show has been held in Midland ever since.
